From Whence We Came

We journeyed from afar and West
In search of a place of our lives' rump's rest
Over high mountains and over ocean tides
Under smiling Suns and under long cold Nights
We plied our routes with giant ambitions
And bore our backs to dust and fiery submissions
Our songs were ones of near-delight
Though belittled we'd keep shout with all our might
For things we regret, we'd make up for them with tears
Feigning bravado while innately nursing our fears
We practiced smiles,  hugs and The Courteous Sign
Sipping Syrahs and Merlot's to prove we were fine
But we died in our ardent quest for life
Chasing shadows way up and down Street 5
We bruised hands and knees in drunken brawls and fights
Seeing but skinned carcasses under morning lights

Today we go back to places from which we were
To the lands where it can only be as quiet
Taking a bow graceful to the memories we share
An exit no May nor Corbyn would ever beget
For few Princes would see the Kingdom for whom they care
And that may've been life being truly lenient
As they such as we,  till death couldn't bear
The loss of rubies we have and ones we didn't
"So if we die young,  bury us in Saten
Lay us down on beds of Roses
Sink us in Waters at dawn
Sending us away with Words of Love songs!"
So today we go to places from whence we came
Lame or hurray - we'll feel no shame
Give unto us our due pennies and Dime
We had just enough time!
