Here's  to those that trusted too much for far less
Here's to they that believed in promises that were empty but seemed real
Here's to they that waited gently for the tap on the door for their best news
And here's to they that loved even when they knew it was love slipping away

Here's to they that found love but could never possess it
Here's to those that took them to the ball, sat through every song but would never get a dance's chance
Here's to they who's simplest flaws were lashed out against them big
And here's to those for whom a handful of reasons was given to quit; but never one for which to hold on

Here's to divorced wives and wounded hubbies
Here's to brides left on altars and grooms moping on bathroom floors
Here's to broken hearts all around the world
And here's to all those who gave everything, but were constantly overlooked for reward
For they believed lies...
Lies which they treasured as truth
The only truth they came to know

Not because they were blind and foolhardy people
But for the first time in their lives, the Sun actually felt like shining through -
But they eventually died daily, holding on to thin air robed in baseless hopes

For for all reasons they were comforted;
But for no reason were they ever considered

Here's to you who lie awake every night - wishing on stars that may never be yours
Here's to you who wonder if that broken chunk of heart will ever be mended
Here's to you who still believe in the magic and fire of true love
Here's to you that die everyday - but live a for a thousand years
