The Call

She's broken, she's bent. She's all the bad it looks to be
But none can with certainty say: "She's beyond our reach"
She may look helpless, and a little caught in the shadows
But a little light, some more fight, and she could be back in glamour

It is a personal decision although; the quest to build her
Her future lays in the bosom and hands of a choice to care
A choice to sacrifice; a choice to be disciplined
It wouldn't just take much; it will actually take all

This is no novel call; but only re-echoes of all we are to be
Dutiful sons and daughters of width and responsibility
Originals who aspire to seek, pursue and possess good
Mere mortals who's glories lie in the bigger, better picture

Mortals who may end up not even the least remembered
But would have christened generations into ethical living
With equity and uprightness being their watchwords
And an ever-prosperous Mother Ghana, their hope's home

It is a people as you and I; of common makes and desires
Of earth, blood and private ambitions too
Who'd choose to be non-conformers; making The Difference
Simpletons with a priceless dream - A flaming Vision

Conceded, it's poetry; and possibly only a little shy of surrealistic
With probably a million doubtfully resonating cries and criticism; saying:
"Wake up! This is Ghana! This is impossible!"
But what if it were a dream beyond words? A party waiting to happen?

Hearts and hands will be required, for this duty-of-a-lifetime
Selfless sons and daughters of this space of African Earth
It could be you, it could be me
It could be anyone of us, it could be all of us

What do you stand for? What do I stand for?
But it all begins with a choice - a choice to stand for Good
A choice to be faithful and loyal to Ghana our Motherland
A solemn choice to in all things, uphold and defend her Good Name

Choose to be truly Ghanaian
Choose to live an #EthicaLife

#EthicaLifeGhana
#StandForHerGood
